'Call of Duty' Warzone Wednesdays Week 1 - Time, Bracket, Teams & How to Watch
Daniel "Keemstar" Keem is hosting a brand-new weekly video game tournament for Call of Duty: Warzone to appease his legion of followers that are stuck indoors. Sixteen teams of three players will compete in a single-elimination tournament for a chance at a $20,000 first place prize. Alongside his partners at Greenlit Content and eFuse, Keem hopes this new tournament has the same level of success as his other events, Friday Fortnite and Minecraft Mondays. KeemPark is Keem's new business venture that aims to transcend traditional esports and gaming content. In addition to these tournaments, a physical location for KeemPark will be built in Buffalo, New York, though not much is known about the details amidst the COVID-19 outbreak. Warzone Wednesdays Rules The Warzone Wednesday rule set has the 16 teams of three players competing one-on-one to see who advances in the bracket. Each match consists of two battle royale games, earning points for the kills they get. Teams are only competing against those in the bracket, meaning those teams with less-skilled players still have a chance to move on. In the case where both teams get the same amount of kills, other factors, like which team had the player with the most kills or the team with the most overall damage, will decide the tie breaker. The games start at 4 p.m. EDT and will presumably run for three to four hours. © Getty Call of Duty: Warzone Call of Duty Warzone gained 30 million players within ten days of its release. After seeing this massive response from the gamers, Infinity Ward are now focusing on delivering regular updates to the game. The latest update of Call of Duty Warzone, which was released on 24th March, brought numerous changes in the game. With the arrival of this update, the game has received four new weapons which have also expanded the loot pool of the map. These four guns are the 725, MK2 Carbine, .50 GS, and EBR-14 and are available to equip in all the modes of COD Warzone. Activision stated on their official blog: Four weapons - the 725, MK2 Carbine, .50 GS, and EBR-14 will be available in the world of Warzone. Find these armaments across Verdansk in both Common and Uncommon rarities, then take aim against your opponents. Each weapon comes with distinct strengths in its class, consider equipping them in loadouts to see how they match up on the battlefield. Undoubtedly, the newly added weapons will bring changes to the existing strategies and will put the FPS skills of the players to test. Along with this, the Battle Royale solos playlist will continue this week, and the players can update the game via Blizzard Launcher on PC. A pro Call of Duty player tracked exactly how he spent his time for a week, from over 50 hours of esports to after-hours Twitch streaming Call of Duty League players earn a salary to travel the globe and compete in one of the world's most popular games. Esports requires time and dedication to compete at the highest level, so Business Insider asked a pro Call of Duty League player to break down how he spends his time during the week. Lamar "Accuracy" Abedi told Business Insider he spent more than 50 hours playing and studying "Call of Duty Modern Warfare" from March 2 to March 8. See the full breakdown below. Hundreds of players are now able to earn a living playing their favorite games at the highest level of competition. Different esports can offer varying levels of money and stability, but few organizations show more potential than Activision Blizzard's Call of Duty League. The "Call of Duty" franchise is a perennial best-seller with tens of millions of active players around the world, and publisher Activision Blizzard just launched a new professional esports league for "Call of Duty Modern Warfare" with 12 franchised teams in January 2020. Call of Duty League investors paid $25 million each for their franchise spots in the league and planned to host live events in nearly a dozen cities in North America and Europe (before the coronavirus outbreak moved the matches online). Players are earning a minimum salary of $50,000 to compete in the league's inaugural season, with even more prize money on the line during each event. Pro players in the Overwatch League, the CDL's sister organization, earned $114,000 on average in 2019 after factoring in prize bonuses. Though the players in the Call of Duty League have found a rare career opportunity, playing video games at a professional level can still be intensely demanding. Many of the league's players relocate to their team's city during the season, and the league's schedule requires players to travel between major cities on an almost weekly basis. To get an idea of what a top esports league demands from its players, Business Insider asked Call of Duty League player Lamar "Accuracy" Abedi to document his week from March 2 to March 8. Here's a look inside the life of a professional gamer:
Injustice 2 Review Faster, deeper action and a wealth of content make this fighting game feel super. Like its cast of heroes, Injustice 2 is exceptional. The fight mechanics have been guided in the right direction following 2013’s Injustice: Gods Among Us. The hours of play potential in the new Multiverse mode alone is impressive. The heroes and villains of the DC Universe look better here than they have in any game before, even as they star in a grim and joyless “what-if” storyline. Just like its heroes, though, Injustice 2 overcomes that adversity and soars, with more single-player content than I’ve ever seen in a fighting game at launch and an unrivaled combo system that is a sheer joy once you master it. Injustice 2 strikes a fine balance between retaining the strengths of Gods Among Us and making smart changes to improve mechanics. On top of new versions of memorable environmental attacks in which you slam enemies with everything from cars to giant stuffed al...
